Portrait photography with a Santa Cruz local
My wife and I were sitting on our couch one evening and saw lights from a fire truck outside. Humans are naturally inquisitive and we are no different. We peeked outside in the hopes of seeing a fiery blaze but no such luck (kidding). All we saw was a truck sitting there with lights going... no fire. I ended up staying outside for 5 minutes because I saw this little guy. I thought he looked kind of cool with the lights behind him so I snapped a few photos.

Newborn Baby Photography ::: San Jose
I had the joy of shooting "newborn" portraits of beautiful Ryleigh. She was a day shy of a month so I guess she wasn't technically a newborn. Nonetheless, she was adorable. She kind of had a love/hate thing going on with the camera. One minute she was intrigued by the lens and the next she was screaming for me to go home!

A little westerly swell...
These photos are of some of Santa Cruz's greatest talent during a small swell last weekend. I wish I was able to get out in the water but my back is injured so it will be a while until I get to surf again. It's a tease, living two blocks from Santa Cruz's best beaches and not being able to surf. I've loved living in Santa Cruz but hate knowing I can't enjoy the water. I suppose I'll just have to enjoy it through my photography for a while.

Ringing in the New Year: 2009
I spent New Years Eve on the couch with my wife. She says I'm too old, despite being only 29. I think I just enjoy the simple things in life.
I spent the last month and a half driving all over the Central Coast (and one trip to Texas) taking pictures of family and friends but I had not taken a fun photo trip in a while. Yesterday, I decided to head down to the harbor to watch the sunset...another simple thing for a simple, old man. I sat on the tailgate on my truck, camera in hand, for about 30 minutes as the sun went down.
